Join Gerard for a talk about concurrency control and why it’s hard in distributed architectures. Gerard will explain common event-driven architectures and how they implement concurrency control. He’ll zoom in on some of the compromises to have proper concurrency control.
With over 10 years of experience as a backend engineer, Gerard Klijs is a contributor to several GraphQL libraries, and also the creator and maintainer of a Rust library to use Confluent Schema Registry. He has an interest in event sourcing and CQRS and likes sharing knowledge via blogs, talks, and demo projects.
Tiffany is a senior developer advocate at VMware and is focused on Kubernetes. She previously worked as a software developer and developer advocate (nerd whisperer) for containers at Amazon. She also formerly worked at Docker and Intel. Prior to that, she graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in electrical engineering.
